內容簡介 This is a book designed for seven- to twelve-year-olds. This is a story about a boy putting himself in extreme danger to save an elephant. The elephant returns that favour years later, albeit in a way that both terrifies and excites the boy. This is a feel-good book about how one good turn deserves another, which is a privilege and not a right. Enjoy the read, and learn some new words and facts. Knowledge is free.
作者介紹 My father loved telling bedtime stories, making them up as he went along. The common theme was that while reward should not be sought, good deeds are sometimes repaid, often unexpectedly, in kind. Now a grandfather myself, I am attempting to emulate my father, using in my stories a blend of fact and fiction. In this series, I have in mind that today's world is much faster paced than it was when I was young. I hope that listeners to or readers of my stories can place themselves in the various roles in the story itself, in reading, taking time out to discuss the content, and changing the pitch of their voices to suggest coming excitement and a suggestion of imminent danger.
