1. 地點
Tips
場景照片：在描述人或物所處的位置時，常會運用到許多表示方向或位置的字詞，包括 by、behind、beneath、away from 等，熟悉這些字詞所代表的意義，才能正確描述人或物的位置。
Example
此照片中，以街道為場景，主題是在攝影機下方的人物，此處你會聽到四句話，描述男士所在的位置，其中只有一句是最符合照片內容的描述。






Analysis
（1） Information Focus：
本照片的主題是一位 beneath the camera（在攝影機下面）的男士，其他選項的 traffic cone（錐形路標）、trash can（垃圾桶）、tripod（三腳架），都出現在圖片中，但是所用的方向字詞有誤，非正確描述。
（2） Language Skills：
常用來表示方向及位置的字詞：
a. 在……之上：above, on, on top of；在……之下：beneath, below, under
b. 在……的前面：in front of；在兩者之間：between；在⋯⋯的後面：behind

Tips
疑問詞開頭的應答題：以疑問詞 where 為首的問句型式，常用來詢問對方有關「地點」的問題，例如問對方哪裡可以找到筆筒 “Where can I find a pen holder?”，正確回應是告知對方具體的位置或方向，如果不知地點，以否定方式回應 “Sorry, I’m not sure, we don’t know.”
Example
在以下的應答中，你會聽到有人問 “Where”，接著會聽到三個不同的回答，其中只有一個是正確的回應。
Where can I find a pen holder?
a) We won’t be back till tomorrow.
b) Sorry, we don’t carry that item.
c) The manager will hold this meeting in his office.
Analysis
（1）Information Focus：
本題詢問目的是「筆筒放置地點」，關鍵字彙是 where（在哪裡）、pen holder（筆筒），因此可能的回答：
肯定：On the third floor.（在三樓。）否定：Sorry, we don’t carry that item.（抱歉，我們沒有那項產品。）
（2）Language Skills：
a. 其他字彙：carry（有販售⋯）、hold（舉行）。

Part C Short Conversations　簡短對話
1. 與人相關的談話
Tips
辦公室內的對話：在對話中常會用 “ I heard it from someone ”、“ Have you heard... ”、“ I heard someone say... ” 這類詞語作為閒聊的開頭，談論的主題就是接續在後面的內容。
Examples
在簡短對話裡，你會聽到兩個人（通常是一男一女）的交談，接著再依據談話內容，
找到對話的主題。
M : I heard that Mrs. Smith isn’t going to get the promotion.
W : You probably heard that from Heather. I’ve heard her telling several people.
M : Actually, I heard it from Bob, but it sounds like something Heather would do.
What are the speakers talking about?（他們在談些什麼？）
a ) The man’s promotion（這位男士的升遷）
b ) The woman’s sales skills（這位女士的促銷技巧）
c ) A person who habitually spreads rumors（習慣散播謠言的人）
