作者介紹 Joseph Campbell (1904 - 1987) se dedicó desde muy joven a investigar la importancia de los mitos en el comportamiento individual y colectivo del ser humano. Descubrió, haciendo un detallado estudio histórico de varias mitologías y religiones en el mundo, que existen temas comunes a todas ellas. A destacar, la figura del héroe y su aventura (que incluye componentes como la partida, la iniciación, la apoteosis o el regreso). Fue autor de numerosos libros, entre los que destacan Los mitos, En busca de la felicidad, Las máscaras de Dios o El héroe de las mil caras.
