Ice: A Story of Love, Crime and Politics
ICE
內容簡介
ICE is a high-velocity political crime thriller that interweaves corruption in U.S. federal agencies, international intrigue, organized crime, private military operations, and the turbulent personal lives of people trapped inside those systems.
Major Plot Threads
1. Don Young - the Inside Man
A mid-level U.S. postal executive assigned to Mount Weather, Don Young steals more than a million dollars from the ultrasecret FEMA "Sloth" account. His plan to escape with his mistress, Jenel Legget, collapses when professional killers assassinate them in a hotel suite. Their deaths ripple through Washington, triggering investigations and exposing corruption.
2. Paul V. Agassi - the Corporate Politician
The embattled CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation is blindsided when State Department agents inform him that his organization is tied to the missing money. Fighting for survival, he enters a dangerous bargain with government insiders - one that could bury or expose the theft.
3. Vince Barile - the Ambitious Mob Heir
The grandson of a notorious crime boss, Vince aims to transform Sierra Leone's post-war economy-while positioning himself to control the nation's diamond industry. He leverages political manipulation, international development, and financial investment to build a global empire. But chaos erupts when stolen diamonds vanish and his sister disappears.
4. Letty Barile - the Sister Who Knew Too Much
After receiving a shipment of diamonds for safekeeping, Letty is killed unintentionally during a confrontation with her ex-boyfriend, Tony Long. Her death sets multiple criminal factions into motion, each trying to retrieve the diamonds, hide their involvement, or survive the fallout.
5. Sonja Scott - the Opportunist
Letty's best friend discovers the diamonds in Letty's home and secretly steals the briefcase, pulling herself directly into the center of a violent black-market scramble.
6. Isaac "Ice" Moore - the Reluctant Hero
A former soldier, former State Department agent, and elite Blackwater-trained operator. Ice is hard-edged, calculating, loyal, and dangerous. Vince hires him to find Letty and recover the diamonds, pulling Ice into a vortex of mob politics, corrupt federal officials, assassinations, and international forces all converging at once. His past military heroism in Kuwait, his time with Blackwater, and his years in diplomatic security all shape the way he navigates the crisis.
