Darlena, Belinda, and Carmen Jones, three African American sisters now in their mid-forties, grew up poor as tight, close-knit sisters in the Crenshaw area of Los Angeles. Each sister has grown up with a strong attraction to different shades of long-stem roses that has carried over well into their adult life. While Belinda and Carmen have risen to become two of the richest, most powerful drug lords in all of Los Angeles, Darlena, who is a good-natured soul, shuns that seedy, criminal lifestyle. Instead, she becomes a common everyday working woman who struggles to pay bills and hold down a steady job.

Eventually, Darlena's desire to get away from the busy L.A. streets to a more serene, rural environment, along with her deep devotion to want to help mold and mentor poverty-stricken children, leads her two influential sisters to purchase her a two-thousand-acre ranch in the picturesque Lost Sierra alpine region of northern California as a gift; a home in which Darlena turns into a nonprofit children's vacation camp that buses in poor kids from the inner city.

For ten years, Darlena has run her camp without any interference from her benefactors. However, when a huge oil discovery is suddenly found on the premises of the camp-one of the biggest oil discoveries in recent U.S. history that's worth billions of dollars-her two sisters each demand a third of the mineral rights of the oil from Darlena as thanks for purchasing her the ranch.

When Darlena refuses her sisters' wishes or sell out to any oil company because she wants to keep her ranch land unspoiled so it can remain as a children's vacation camp for inner city kids, her two maniacal, scheming sisters join forces and begin to pressure Darlena to succumb to their will. What soon transpires is a whirlwind of mayhem and chaos.

On Belinda and Carmen's order, their ruthless, diabolical henchmen commence to try to steal the prized possession from Darlena at all costs as murder, kidnapping, and backstabbing among sisters begin to take place. To make matters worse, as Darlena tries to stay alive and stave off her evil-minded sisters, Belinda and Carmen soon turn on one another when greed takes over. The men of their two separate drug organizations, representing their bosses' fanatical obsession for their favorite, beloved roses, begin to clash on the mean streets of L.A., in a war of roses, to determine which madam boss will end up taking over this massive oil discovery once Darlena is finally eliminated.
