Es temporal. Es una mentira. Qué podría salir mal?
" Yo los cuidaré!" Eso es lo que digo a la trabajadora social cuando uno de mis alumnos de preescolar y su hermanito bebé necesitan con urgencia una familia de acogida. But my apartment is flooded, and with so little time, there's only one place I can take them: Knox Daniels's new house.
Knox is my older brother's best friend, and he doesn't hesitate to offer me his home. He's supposed to return to our small town in a month, and when he does, he and the legendary Legacy wildfire crew will try to rebuild the brigade our fathers founded.
It doesn't matter that I've secretly loved Knox since we were kids. It can't matter that we pretend that kiss on graduation night never happened. It shouldn't matter that what I feel for him could ruin his friendship with my brother and jeopardize the brigade's certification. Because I'll be gone from his house long before he comes back. Except Knox just walked through the door... a month earlier than expected.
The cherry on top of this disastrous cake? He looks as breathtaking as ever... and I'm covered in baby vomit. Knox looks at the kids, then at me, and says we can do this. That we can fake a relationship, just temporarily, to keep the system from separating them.
