Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Italian artists consistently produced posters with stunning designs and imagery. At the same time, Italian cinema developed a distinct style which produced several unique genres, perhaps most famously the so-called "spaghetti western", a mutant strain renowned both for its violence and its visual invention.
