In just over a decade, the Mexican ombudsman's office has received more than 11,000 complaints of alleged human rights violations committed by soldiers--complaints of murder, torture, and enforced disappearance. Why does a soldier kill? Why does someone who swears to protect people use the power of the State to attack them? The authors of this uncompromising book--rigorous in its investigation, yet no less human and filled with deeply moving passages--set out to understand the reasons, to uncover the circumstances in which these horrors occur. 作者介紹
Daniela Rea es reportera desde 2002, autora del libro Nadie les pidió perdón (2015), coeditora de los libros Entre las cenizas: historias de vida en tiempos de muerte (2012) y Romper el silencio: 22 gritos contra la censura (2018). En 2017 estrenó su primer documental No sucumbió la eternidad. Es coautora de la pagina cadena de mando proyecto embrión de este libro. Actualmente colabora en el sitio Pie de Página.
