內容簡介 This is the first volume of the Ancient Greek Thematic Dictionary, that organizes Attic and Koine words and phrases, attested in primary sources, according to semantic domains. The domains themselves (and their structure) are labeled in English and French. English and French. Each Ancient Greek expression is further illustrated with a relevant quotation. Thus, an entry comprises the English, French, and Ancient Greek expressions for a given concept. E.g.: In a way - τρόπον τινά D'une certaine façon ou manière Καὶ γὰρ ταῦτα τρόπον τινὰ λέγονται καθ ̓ ἕν (Aristoteles, Metaphysica, 1003b.15). For, the latter too, in a way, express one common notion. Et en effet, ces choses, d'une certaine manière, expriment une même idée. All the words and phrases are catalogued in the Ancient Greek, English and French indices for quick reference. The first volume of the thematic dictionary deals with general concepts, dimensions, and the senses. Subsequent six volumes will cover the following thematic areas: everyday needs; emotional and mental activities; nature and geography; education; family and society; leisure.
