WyrdWood: The Story of Dusty Miller
WYRDWOOD
內容簡介
Meet one of Britain's last traditional folk magicians.
Hidden among the ancient woodlands of Kent lives a remarkable man whose life's work has been devoted to preserving one of Britain's oldest magical traditions.
Known simply as Dusty Miller, he is a wand maker, folk magician, storyteller and guardian of an extraordinary body of woodland lore passed down through generations. His handcrafted staves, wands and LiveWood creations have become legendary among practitioners of traditional witchcraft and British folk magic, while his quiet wisdom and lifelong dedication have earned him the affection of everyone fortunate enough to meet him.
In WyrdWood, author Michael Kelly journeys into Dusty's world, recording not merely the biography of an unusual man, but the living traditions that surround him.
Discover:
- the forgotten heritage of Britain's Elfin traditions
- the mysteries of Dryads and LiveWood
- the crafting of magical staves, wands and talismans
- ancient runescripts and protective folk magic
- the philosophy of traditional witchcraft and service
- little-known pagan words and customs preserved through the centuries
Rich with conversations, personal memories, folklore, magical philosophy and practical insight, this is neither fiction nor fantasy. It is a rare opportunity to meet a genuine practitioner whose life has been devoted to helping others through the old ways.
Whether you are interested in British folklore, traditional witchcraft, folk magic, paganism, magical history, tree lore, or the living mystery traditions of Britain, WyrdWood offers an unforgettable journey into a world that still quietly exists alongside our own.
Some traditions are written in books.
Others are carried in living memory.
This is one of them.
