He was a zero-time All-American hammer thrower at UCLA, where he learned more about the merits of deep-fried burritos than political science. The Culinary Bro-Down Cookbook began as a blog, which was named a finalist for best writing in Saveur magazine's Best Food Blog Awards 2014.
