100 AMAZING FACTS ABT THE NEGR
內容簡介
Discover the Hidden History and Triumphs of the African Diaspora
First published in 1934, 100 Amazing Facts About the Negro: With Complete Proof is a brilliant and groundbreaking work of historical reclamation. Written by pioneering journalist and self-taught historian J. A. Rogers, this classic text was created as a direct counter-attack against the racist, Eurocentric historical narratives of the early 20th century that sought to erase the contributions of Black people from world history.
Through decades of tireless global research, Rogers compiled a staggering list of historical truths, bringing to light the incredible achievements, complex civilizations, and profound cultural contributions of people of African descent. Delivered in an accessible, rapid-fire format and backed by rigorous historical citations, this book served as a vital educational tool for generations of readers and a foundational text for the civil rights movement.
Inside this classic work of Black history, readers will discover:
- Ancient Civilizations: The advanced cultures and royal lineages of the African continent often ignored by Western historians.
- Global Influence: The extraordinary, undocumented impact of Black inventors, leaders, and artists across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
- Complete Proof: Rogers' meticulous historical citations, ensuring his claims could withstand the intense scrutiny of his contemporary critics.
An absolute necessity for students of African American studies, historians, and anyone seeking the unvarnished truth of human history, 100 Amazing Facts About the Negro is a timeless testament to the brilliance and resilience of the African diaspora.
