作者介紹 賈奎琳．哈普曼 (Jacqueline Harpman, 1913–2012)比利時法語作家及精神分析學家。她的一生作品豐富，善於捕捉人性心理的細微震顫。本作原著出版於 1995 年，雖然哈普曼已於 2012 年辭世，但她的作品在近年透過 TikTok 等社群媒體重新翻紅，被新一代讀者視為與《使女的故事》平起平坐的女性主義科幻經典。Jacqueline Harpman (Author)Jacqueline Harpman was born in Etterbeek, Belgium in 1929. Being half Jewish, the family fled to Casablanca when the Nazis invaded, and only returned home after the war. After studying French literature she started training to be a doctor, but could not complete her training due to contracting tuberculosis. She turned to writing in 1954 and her first work was published in 1958. In 1980 she qualified as a psychoanalyst. Harpman wrote over 15 novels and won numerous literary prizes, including the Prix Médicis for Orlanda. I Who Have Never Known Men was her first novel to be translated into English, and was originally published with the title The Mistress of Silence
