內容簡介 In his first monograph, defining 20 years of design practice and projects, Alexis Herbosch invites you to discover and engage step by step into his mental landscape, design language and love for materialsElemental Liv guides you through Alex Herbosch's practice and visualises an extensive oeuvre, in which his clients appreciate the permanent search for noble simplicityText in English and DutchElemental Liv shows how Alexis Herbosch builds houses that form the backdrop to our everyday surroundings and connect with the existing. With real materials, he opens these spaces to the outside world. They are buildings that touch and appeal to people, overwhelm and still them. Serenity and tactility have determined the design practice of Alexis for twenty years. They form a fil rouge throughout his life and this monograph. What we see are pure forms and a simple mise-en-scène. We feel nature as our guide, observe the defining light and experience the power of the environment. Like a true master, he chooses the right elements to define an experience. From these, spaces grow that smile at all the senses. The use of natural and regional materials is striking. Alexis captures the essence of the good life in his growing oeuvre with his sober lines and controlled layout as his foundations.Text in English and Dutch.
作者介紹 Alexis HerboschAlexis Herbosch is a Belgian architect based in Schilde, Belgium. He is known for his top class houses for clients that reach out to Alexis to help them build a comfortable and livable countryside home. Alexis uses both modern and artisan methods to build or restore his country houses. The perception that something has to look contemporary to be new is not for him. In Alexis' world, it is as if you are escaping the present without losing contemporary comfort. He masters the language to place historical materials in a unique context. His lens is focused on the essence and art of living. Peace, serenity, comfort, security and interaction with nature: this is what Alexis' oeuvre is about.
