內容簡介 知名世界音樂品牌Putumayo，不愧為世界音樂的寶藏之地，這回全新策畫的《Putumayo Presents India》更趕搭上近期話題電影「貧民百萬富翁」順風車，在全球正掀起一陣印度熱的當下，透過音樂打造出這亞洲大國的民族意象。輯中首曲，由Bombay Jayashri的〈Zara Zara〉一曲以南印度方言Carnatic唱出濃厚的傳統風情，接著，音樂創作人Niraj Chag混合東西方音樂元素並找來歌手Swati Natekar一同交出的〈Khwaab〉，則開啟了印度絕美抒情歌謠的篇章。而靠著「貧民百萬富翁」一舉拿下2009奧斯卡獎最佳配樂與最佳電影歌曲兩座小金人，有印度莫札特之稱的A.R. Rahman亦奉上07年為寶萊塢電影所寫的作品〈Tere Bina〉，兼具流行與傳統的曲調，十足容易入耳。到了末曲則請到身兼歌手／演員／舞者三重身份的Rajeshwari Sachdev獻上另一寶萊塢作品〈Maavan Te Tiyan〉，交織著傳統器樂與現代電子的編曲架構，體現了印度音樂的現代化與多變性，同時也具體而微的呈現起當今印度音樂的脈絡。 最能形容本專輯的一句話：迷人的印度樂音從傳統歌謠、寶萊塢到摩登電音，皆像是催眠咒術般輕易地魅惑人心！Putumayo World Music was established in 1993 to introduce people to the music of the world's cultures. The label grew out of Putumayo clothing company, founded by Dan Storper in 1975 and sold in 1997. Co-founder Michael Kraus joined Dan to launch Putumayo World Music and establish a non-traditional sales division. Putumayo World Music has become known primarily for its upbeat and melodic compilations of great international music characterized by the company's motto: "guaranteed to make you feel good!" Putumayo's CD covers feature the distinctive art of Nicola Heindl, whose colorful, folkloric style represents one of Putumayo's goals: to connect the traditional to the contemporary.
