Take a Line for a Walk

Inspired by Paul Klee's quote, 'A drawing is simply a line going for a walk', this artful activity book is packed with playful ways to start a drawing.

What if drawing could be as simple as picking up a pencil and moving it about on the page, as fun as playing a game or as exciting as setting out on an adventure? The answer is, you would spend all your time drawing, just like the author and illustrator of this book, Marion Deuchars!

Featuring more than 100 drawing prompts, Take a Line for a Walk takes the pressure out of being creative by turning every drawing into a game. Having spent decades at the drawing board, Marion knows exactly how make art fun and easy. Whether it's drawing a line with the hiccups, playing a visual game of cat and mouse or walking your line around a maze of busy streets, Marion has endless suggestions for how to start a drawing.

Without having to worry about what to draw, or what the results might be, young artists can enjoy following each prompt to see where it might take them. Peppered through the book are Marion's own beautiful line drawings, all of which are the result of simply taking a line for a walk.
