內容簡介
內容簡介 Durable board-book counting adventure teaches numbers from 1 to 20 through playful alpine animals and recognizable Canadian Rockies landscapes. Jocey Asnong turns early numeracy into an outdoor journey in Rocky Mountain 123s. Different mountain animals take part in imaginative activities that connect each number with a memorable scene, from three bears sliding down scree to six lynx practising snowboard tricks and eight elk learning to skate. The illustrations also introduce young readers to places and landscapes across western Canada, including Takkakaw Falls, Lake Louise, Fernie and Maligne Canyon. The combination of counting, wildlife and mountain settings gives children several ways to engage with each page while reinforcing number recognition. The repeated pairing of numbers with animals and activities also supports shared reading and early counting practice. The sturdy board-book format is designed for toddlers, preschoolers and repeated family reading. It combines early numeracy with mountain wildlife and outdoor adventure, making it useful for Canadian Rockies gift displays as well as early-learning and regional children's collections.

作者介紹 Jocey Asnong was raised by a pack of wild pencil crayons in a house made out of paper and stories. After finishing several years of illustration school at Sheridan College, she left the land of maple trees in Ontario and moved to the mountains of Alberta so she could wear mittens most of the year. When she is not chasing her cats around her art cave, she might be caught in a blizzard near Mount Everest, or running away from wild dogs in Mongolia, or peeking out castle windows in Scotland, or sleeping under the stars in Bolivia. Jocey's books for children include Nuptse and Lhotse in Nepal (winner of a Purple Dragonfly Award), Nuptse and Lhotse Go to the Rockies, Nuptse and Lhotse Go to Iceland, Nuptse and Lhotse Go to the West Coast, Nuptse and Lhotse in the Land of the Midnight Sun, Nuptse and Lhotse Go to the Prairies, Rocky Mountain ABCs, Rocky Mountain 123s, West Coast ABCs, West Coast 123s, Prairie ABCs, Prairie 123s, Ontario ABCs, and Explore Canada.
