El Flamboyán Amarillo. Edición 30 Aniversario / The Yellow Flamboyant Tree. 30th Anniversary Edition
SPA-FLAMBOYAN AMARILLO EDICION
ENGLISH DESCRIPTION
30th anniversary edition of a beloved classic by award-winning Puerto Rican author Georgina Lázaro. This edition features illustrations by Lulu Delacre, just as originally published by Lectorum in the continental United States in 2004. A warm story about a mother and son who plant a tree, rich in emotion and with a charming blend of poetry and science that makes it ideal for STEAM learning.
In this captivating story told in verse, a boy and his mother discover a beautiful flowering tree during a walk in the countryside. The boy decides to take home part of that beauty in the form of a seed. As the plant grows into a tree, he discovers the miracle of the plant life cycle. Years later, when the tree finally blooms, it brings a wonderful surprise. Stunning pastel illustrations bring the warmth of the Caribbean to life.
The author's end note provides more information about flamboyant trees, the different names they receive around the world, and why a yellow flamboyant seed produces a tree with red flowers. The final pages include supplementary material, such as a glossary of plant-related terms and science, art, and writing activities.
