The Actor's Book of Scenes: 50 Original Comedy and Drama Scenes for Working Actors
ACTORS BK OF SCENES
內容簡介
Need to keep your audition skills in top form between acting jobs? We all do.
The Actor's Book of Scenes is a collection of fifty original comedy and drama scenes for working actors. The book is intended to assist actors, aspiring actors, and their teachers, coaches, and university instructors by providing realistic, fast-paced, conversational dialogues that mirror the type of material students will encounter in professional level auditions for film, television, theater, commercial and hosting projects with directors, casting directors and talent agents in the real world. With a variety of characters, choices, and conflicts, these easy-to-memorize and perform scripts help actors develop clarity, authenticity, and adaptability while making bold performance choices. A must-have resource for building confidence and craft in any acting class or workshop.
The scenes are all original and never-before seen by audiences. They cover a diverse array of styles, topics, and tone, and can be performed by adult actors of any age and gender. They are easily adaptable to actors' unique personal circumstances and styles, and written by an industry insider with extensive experience in the real world Hollywood and New York trenches--and longtime voting member of the National Television Academy, the organization the produces the Emmy Awards each year.
Recommended for both student and professional actors for use in scene study classes and workshops, this collection of new and engaging scenes offers myriad ways to explore the human condition in all its complexity and nuance..
The fifty selections run the gamut from searing real-life dramas to playful, lighthearted and absurdist comedies; from scenes of sobering realism to ones that willfully and wantonly upend theatrical customs and conventions, offering actors a wide range of opportunities to hone their craft and showcase their unique talents.
Whether a professional or student actor, you'll find this book an invaluable addition to your acting toolbox.
