內容簡介 ✰錯覺藝術大師：艾雪作品1898年出生於荷蘭，錯覺藝術大師艾雪（M.C.Escher）一生癡迷於藝術與數學的完美結合。1922年，他首次踏足義大利，開啟12年的羅馬之旅。這段經歷影響了他日後的創作，讓他著迷於古羅馬式的建築、風景與巴洛克藝術，也擅長描繪夜晚的街景，探索城市隱蔽的角落。艾雪個性內斂但才華洋溢，擅長運用版畫創作出奇幻的視覺世界，將數學、科學、物理與藝術巧妙融合，打造出令人驚嘆的「不可能」之現實。Maurits Cornelis Escher was born in 1898 in the Netherlands and died there in 1972. In 1922 he first visited Italy (Tuscany, Umbria and Liguria) and in 1923 arrived in Rome, where he lived for twelve years, until 1935. The Roman period had a strong influence on all his later work, which saw him prolific in the production of lithographs and etchings especially of landscapes, views, architecture and views of that ancient and Baroque Rome that he loved to investigate in its most intimate dimension, that of the night, by the dim light of a lantern. Restless, reserved and undoubtedly brilliant, Escher in his famous engravings and lithographs created a unique, imaginative, impossible world where art, mathematics, science, physics and design converge.
