內容簡介
內容簡介 You don't have to be a balletomane to enjoy THE RED SHOES, although ballet is so integral a part of the film that it might help. THE TURNING POINT was a much more realistic look at pirhouettes and plies, gut this is the one that will stand out in your memory as the ultimate ballet picture, until a better one comes along, if ever. It't a backstage love story that is, in many ways, similar to any of several Warner Bros. musicals of the 1930s but the dancing is so glorious and the acting so excellent that the resemblance ends quickly. When it was finished, everyone suspected a disaster. It had gone well over budget and the makers and distributors wondered if there would be a market for such a specific kind of film. The receipts in England were not terrific and it was only after it opened in the U.S and other countries that it began to take off and played to full houses, grossing many more millions than anyone had imagined it might. THE RED SHOES won three Oscars for Best Art Direction, Best Set Decoration, and Best Scoring. The melodramatic aspects of the plot can't be overlooked when it comes to evaluating the entire film. The picture was also Oscar-nominated as Best Picture and for Best Screenplay.
