內容簡介
內容簡介 Nocturnes is Maxence Cyrin's fourth album. After two discs (Modern Rhapsodies, Novö Piano) in which he reinterpreted pop, rock and electro anthems (Pixies, Nirvana, Aphex Twin, Daft Punk…) on the piano, then The Fantasist, the soundtrack for an imaginary film, Nocturnes is his first album of compositions for solo piano. These bring up to date a musical form adopted by certain classical composers (Fauré, Field) and popularized by Chopin. The ten pieces constituting this album invites us on a nocturnal journey through Paris (Arc de Triomphe, Dream over the bridge, Paris Spleen), visiting places where one can have fun (La Bellevilloise, China Club), before making a detour in order to stretch out in the boudoirs of a rococo hotel (Velours Poussière). The pianist also invites us to reverie and magic (The frozen Palace), melancholy (A tale from the past, In the grey of the sky) and, before we slip into sleep, to remember this night spent in his company (It was a very good night).Resolutely rooted in his time, Maxence Cyrin performs at classical music festivals such as 'Pianos aux Jacobins' and '1001 Notes', and regularly works for the fashion industry with brands such as Lanvin, Chanel or Valentino, and participates in contemporary art projects (the Perrotin and Chappe galleries in Paris).
