內容簡介
內容簡介 Sarah Vaughan with Clifford Brown (EmArcy MG-36004) was originally issued only under the singers name. However, the trumpeters tragic death in 1956, and the fact that this was his only recorded collaboration with Vaughan, led to both of their names being featured on the covers of later re-editions. Clifford Brown died in a car accident in 1956 at the tender age of 25, bringing one of the most exciting careers in jazz to a tragic close. Sarahs first recordings took place in 1944 with the Billy Eckstine orchestra, and she was an active participant in concerts and recording sessions with such legendary bebop stars as Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker. Even though she would enjoy a long and prolific career, this early album is still regarded as one of her very best.
