Inspired by the untamed landscape of the eastern regions of Japan, Sesson led a peripatetic existence caused by a lifetime of experiencing warfare and upheaval―yet he created some of the most visually striking images in the history of Japanese ink painting. 作者介紹 Frank Feltens is the Japan Foundation Assistant Curator of Japanese Art at the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, the Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art. Yukio Lippit is the Jeffrey T. Chambers and Andrea Okamura Professor of History of Art and Architecture at Harvard University.
